The Shattered Lands
Classes: Druid, Ranger
2nd-level transmutation (ritual)
Casting Time: 1 minute
Components: V, S
Duration: 12 hours
You touch the earth and immediately open a small hole in the ground, wide enough for a Small or Medium sized creature to crawl through. The hole leads to a cozy, round burrow that is 5 feet below the ground. The burrow is large enough to hold one small creature per caster level; for the purposes of this spell, medium-sized creatures take up the space of two small creatures. Large creatures are unable to fit through the hole to enter the burrow.
The caster of the spell can open or close the entryway at will, using a bonus action. While sealed, the burrow is dry, cozy, and warm, regardless of the outside temperature, and the inhabitants do not suffer any ill effects for extreme temperatures. While within the den, any creature who spends hit dice to recover during a short or long rest regains an additional 1d6 hit points.
Finding the den from outside is difficult, requiring a DC 20 Wisdom (Perception) or Intelligence (Investigation) check. If found, the den can be dug up normally.
At the end of the duration, anyone still inside the den is immediately pushed to the surface above and suffers 1d6 damage from the collapsing earth and rubble.
